Introduction

Meridian is a moderation bot for Discord and Roblox communities, built by Azalea. The brand needed an identity that felt calm and dependable rather than technical or aggressive, since moderation tools usually lean hard into warning colors and blunt language. Meridian needed to feel like the opposite of that.

The Brief

Create a mark that ties back to the name itself. Meridian comes from the Latin word for midday, the moment the sun sits at its highest point. It is also the root of AM and PM. The identity needed to carry that meaning without spelling it out, and it needed to sit comfortably next to Azalea as the parent brand.

The Concept

The logomark is a sun at its zenith. A central circle surrounded by eight geometric rays, built from repeating hexagons rather than sharp points. That repetition brings in a sense of rhythm and balance, echoing the idea of a cycle that resets every single day.

The sun at its highest point is a moment of clarity and evenness, no shadows, nothing hidden. That is the same standard Meridian holds moderation to. Consistent, balanced, and clear, whatever time the sun happens to be at.

Visual Identity

The palette pairs deep navy with a warm yellow, a nod to daylight without leaning into anything loud or neon. White and cream are used to keep the system breathable across dark and light layouts.

The wordmark runs in Instrument Serif, an elegant italic that brings in a sense of heritage and permanence, something built to last rather than a trend. It is paired with a clean sans serif for interface and supporting text, so the brand still feels usable and modern where it needs to.

Bringing It to Life

The system was built to flex across a full guideline set. Logomark and wordmark lockups, standalone marks in both yellow and navy, and full brand tiles explaining the thinking behind the sun symbol and the name itself. Every piece ties back to the same idea, moderation that runs as steady and predictable as the sun.

Conclusion

Meridian now has an identity that says exactly what it does before you read a word of copy. Steady. Balanced. Built around a promise that moderation shouldn't be difficult, the same way the sun doesn't try hard to rise.
